ANNOUNCEMENT – Rector to new role

In an exciting step towards Bishop Matt’s vision of ‘a worshipping congregation in every community’, a new position has been created to raise up and coordinate a house church ministry. Specifically, to enable the formation of Christian Communities of Faith in small rural villages and localities across the Mallee and East Wimmera districts, in partnership with existing parishes across the region. These may be described as micro-churches or house churches, either meeting in private homes or existing community facilities.

With some sense of sadness at what must conclude, but with a sense of inspiration and excitement, I have accepted Bishop Matt’s invitation to take on this new role.

To this end I announce my resignation as Rector of the Parish of Swan Hill.

As for timing, the precise dates are to be confirmed but it is anticipated that my last Sunday in the parish is likely to be August 14th. Given the need to take annual leave, the formal resignation date will be mid-September.

I will remain the St Arnaud Archdeacon as well continue to provide services and pastoral support to the Quambatook Community Church.
