The Anglican Board of Mission has awarded the Coldrake Medal to Joan Blackman of Swan Hill and Heather Lawrence of Robinvale for outstanding and long service to the work of ABM. The Venerable Michael Hopkins, Archdeacon for the Mallee presented the medals on May 8th at Christ Church Swan Hill.

ADVANCED NOTICE – FORUM ON REFUGEES – JUNE 13TH
Members of several churches gathered for an ecumenical service held at dawn on Easter morning by the river at Nyah. The service was led by Uniting and Anglican lay folk and a simple form of the Lord’s supper was led by Rev Peter Blundell. A reflection on the meaning of Easter, read by Doris Bradbury was beautifully punctuated by a chorus of Laughing Kookaburras. The orange glow of dawn over the Murray River added to the specialness of the occasion. Nearly twenty of us enjoyed toasted hot cross buns around the fire afterwards.

Good Friday Ecumenical Service at MacKillop College Hall, 9:30 am. This service is prepared by the Swan Hill Ministers Fellowship.
Way of the Cross – approx 10.45am starting outside MacKillop College Hall and returning for hot cross buns. Ten “stations” for reflection. (Total walk approx. 1.2km – bus available)

Over fifty people gathered at the Ultima Hall on the 5th Sunday in March for our combined service. We had people from Lake Boga and Nyah West as well as many from Swan Hill and some of the locals of course. Most people were able to stay on and enjoy fellowship over lunch.
