Anglican Church hosts musical talent

Local budding musical talent performed at Christ Church Swan Hill on Sunday afternoon. Three young musicians received scholarships encouraging them to keep their passion for music.

Sincere thanks to the appreciative audience at the concert last Sunday, and to the talented children and adults who provided the music. Special thanks to the parents and teachers of the younger artists for their dedication and encouragement. The Anglican church has great acoustics for these community events, and the generous response of those attending raised $360.00 for the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. A rewarding afternoon tea awaited in the foyer. Much laughter ensued when the “ Lucky Door Prize “ ticket, drawn by Rev. Peter, was won by his wife Jeannette.

Three young  music students  were each granted Lilian Mary Gibbs $500.00 encouragement awards.

Teacher Fred  Turner presented his guitar student Caleb , who performed his own original composition, and Julie Romeo’s  students  Shantae and Xavier performed piano solos.

The program opened with a set from the SHUG ( Swan Hill Ukulele Group ) and following a most enjoyable variety concert closed with  a great brass trio from Julie, Alana and Geoff.
