Members of several churches gathered for an ecumenical service held at dawn on Easter morning by the river at Nyah. The service was led by Uniting and Anglican lay folk and a simple form of the Lord’s supper was led by Rev Peter Blundell. A reflection on the meaning of Easter, read by Doris Bradbury was beautifully punctuated by a chorus of Laughing Kookaburras. The orange glow of dawn over the Murray River added to the specialness of the occasion. Nearly twenty of us enjoyed toasted hot cross buns around the fire afterwards.
Over fifty people gathered at the Ultima Hall on the 5th Sunday in March for our combined service. We had people from Lake Boga and Nyah West as well as many from Swan Hill and some of the locals of course. Most people were able to stay on and enjoy fellowship over lunch.
Our Parish service this Sunday will be at 11:00am at the Ultima Hall (Dillon St Ultima). As per our custom when there is a fifth Sunday of the month we get together in a place other than Christ Church.
Come and join us in worship and then for fellowship in the park beside the hall afterwards. It is BYO lunch and BBQ’s are available.
