Around Swan Hill Parish – 26th October

Anyone passing the Function Centre last Sunday between 5.00 and 7.00pm might have wondered what all the hilarity was about. Those inside were enjoying the activities of Café Church, which also happened to include a 12th birthday celebration for Eloise. Jeannette had recovered enough voice to lead the singing, but Peter was on the sick list, so Denis and Don led proceedings while David cooked the BBQ.

November 18th will see the last Cafe Church for this year, then we will be preparing for the Christmas Eve family service and children’s pageant.

At 2.00pm this Sunday there is to be a charity concert  the church in aid of the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. Four adult instrumental soloists will entertain in support of a number of young music students, of whom three will receive a $500.00 encouragement award to continue their music studies. There will also be an announcement of a new scholarship to be offered next year. Young people need to gain confidence performing in front of an audience, and it is also rewarding for their teachers and parents, so  please support these young musicians, and the young mothers and staff in the Hamlin Fistula Hospital, by your attendance and donations.

$5.00 adults, children free, lucky door prize and afternoon tea in the foyer next door. All welcome.
